An important message from Roland and Ekaterina Michtchenko
Many of you have expressed
an interest in attending
our BDFI Canada 3rd Congress lecture series which will take place
Friday evening, October 16 from 6:00-9:00pm.
Thank you for your interest! But we are concerned at this time,
because it seems that a number of people simply plan to show up
at the door.
We need to know for certain
how many people will attend. We have a significant floor fee that must be
paid, as well as paying these world class coaches to provide their
expertise. As a result, it is vitally important that we have definite
numbers confirmed, with payment, before we can commit to this lecture
evening.
These lectures will help you become a better dancer,
regardless of where you currently are as a dancer. You'll gain valuable
insights whether you're a Pro-Am competitor, an amateur couple, or
just a social dancer with a desire to look better on the floor.
Three
full hours of valuable instruction can be yours for less than the
cost of a typical 45-minute private lesson.
Would you please take a moment
to download the ticket form for the lecture series and submit it immediately so that
we can complete our plans to create this powerful event? Thank you
so much!
For your information, here are more details on
each of the five presenters. Confirmed for this lecture are the following
professionals:
Andrei Gavriline and
Elena Kryuchkova
(each one will lecture separately)
Elena started
as a figure skater and gymnast, but took up ballroom dancing when
she was nine. Andrei was studying law in Moscow when he rediscovered
his childhood passion for dance. He and Elena met in Moscow, fell
in love and became dance partners. In 1999 they moved to the U.S.
and were married. In 2001 they were British Rising Star Latin American
Dance Champions at Blackpool. They have twice been
named U.S. National Professional Latin American Dance Champions,
and three times they represented the U.S. in the World Latin American
Dance Championships.
Olga Foraponova
Olga graduated from the Cheliabinsk
State Institute of Culture in 1986. She devoted four years to studying
different forms of dance such as ballet, folk, historical, jazz and
ballroom, receiving a diploma as a High Qualification Professional
Dance Teacher (equivalent to a Bachelor's Degree).
In 1989 Olga became a Grand Finalist in the Soviet National Championship,
represented Russia in several prestigious competitions and won
national professional competitions.
Olga left Russia in
1993, and with her partner, Michael Mead, became finalists
in the International Standard at the US Ballroom Dance Championships
in 1996. Dancing with David Hamilton in 1996, barely three
months after partnering, they finished as
runners-up in the US championships.
Benoit Drolet
Benoit Drolet is originally from Montreal
Canada. For over ten years he was competing, demonstrating, lecturing
and adjudicating in over 30 different countries with his partner
and wife Lorraine. They were finalists at Blackpool and the European
Championship in 1993 representing England, something they are extremely
proud of. In 1999, Benoit and Lorraine joined the acclaimed show “Burn
The Floor” and toured throughout Australia,
Europe and America. Benoit's accomplishments
include UK Closed Professional Champions and Canadian Masters Professional
Champions.
Vadim Mostovoy
Vadim and his wife Angela started to
dance when they were eight years old, but not together. They first
danced as a couple when Angela was thirteen and Vadim was sixteen.
In 1989 they won the Ukrainian 10-Dance Championships and became
representatives to the World 10 Dance Championships.
After moving to Canada in 1996,
the couple became Canadian representatives to the World
Professional Championships. They appeared in the movie “Shall
